Valent and Martin Sinkovic became the most successful Olympians in the history of Croatia
Croatian rowers Martin and Valent Sinkovic won their third career Olympic gold medal by defending their 1500m doubles Olympic title in Paris.
In addition to bringing Croatia its third medal at the Olympic Games in Paris, the Sinković brothers also became the most successful Olympians in Croatian history.
They became the first Croatians to win four Olympic medals at the Summer Games since Croatia's independence, with a total of three golds and one silver.
In London 2012, they won the silver in the foursome in doubles with Damir Martin and David Shain, in Rio 2016 they won the gold in doubles, then they changed the discipline and three years ago in Tokyo they celebrated in the duo without a coxswain.
Damir Martin, who failed to advance to Thursday's singles final, and handball goalkeeper Venio Lossert, who has gold medals in 1996 and 2004 and a bronze in 2012, each have three Olympic medals.
In addition, the invincible duo has nine medals, six of which are gold, from the world championships and the same number from the European championships, where they were champions seven times.
