Expect crowds in Skopje tomorrow, SSM will block Avtokomanda in the morning rush hour

The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, which went on a general strike last week, starts tomorrow with more radical measures and announced that they will block the entrance to Skopje in Avtokomanda during the morning rush hour, from 7 to 10 o'clock.

From SSM they say that the blockades on the streets will continue in the coming days, in different locations, until the fulfillment of the request for increase of the salaries of all employees in the public sector by 2.806 denars.

They announce that similar actions as tomorrow are planned in the coming days.

"Well, we will probably return to the Government and the Parliament and to the other entrance and exit of the City of Skopje." We do not want them to remain deaf to our request, already when we sat down at the table and started negotiations and agreed on certain things, the purse in the Ministry of Finance should be untied and these 30 million euros should be provided for all employees to be satisfied by the end of the year. "They may not be very satisfied, but in a way the price shock will be mitigated," said Ivan Peshevski, vice president of the private sector at SSM.

However, SSM also decided to stop the strike in three municipalities, after Delchevo, Vinica and Demir Kapija were affected by floods.

- In other municipalities and in the City of Skopje, the strike will certainly continue, and some of the teams will go there to help. In the sense, the remaining 10% will certainly work, and 90% of the employees will strike. So, it remains only in those municipalities that were in crisis to do those things to help the citizens and here we are in solidarity, of course some of our teams will go on the spot, but the rest continue to express their dissatisfaction, says Pesevski .

The SSM strike began on Wednesday. Employees under the state cap say that everything is more expensive, except salaries and that with the money they earn they can not survive, let alone live.
