The Hungarian loan passed through the first parliamentary filter: The opposition did not come, Stojanoski said it was schizophrenic behavior
They don't want to vote for the law, and municipalities where the mayors are from the opposition are applying for money that should be secured from the loan from Hungary, Bojan Stojanoski said.
Despite the fact that the chairman of the Committee on Financing and Budget, Sanja Lukarevska from the ranks of the SDSM, did not want to schedule a session to discuss the law that would enable borrowing in the Hungarian Export-Import Bank, a private limited liability company, Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi exercised his right according to the Rules of Procedure, scheduled the session, and appointed Bojan Stojanoski from the ranks of VMRO-DPMNE as chairman. MPs from the opposition did not attend the session.
Stojanoski said from the parliamentary rostrum that this is proof that the president of SDSM only "ruffled feathers" and that the opposition has no counterarguments for this loan, which will provide money for the economy and municipalities.
- The lies reached them only 24 hours after the press conference. Everyone could come and say what they had in the session in their arguments. Here we could debate for 24 hours. But instead, here in the hall there are only MPs from VMRO, VLEM and ZNAM, and there are zero MPs from SDSM, Left, DUI. Why is there not a single amendment if this law costs nothing? Filipce will say that there was corruption in this loan agreement. He who is known for tenders for vaccines, who is responsible for a fire in which 14 people were burned - said Stojanoski angrily.
He said that although the words "schizophrenic behavior" were very difficult, he could find no other words.
– I can't find other words for those who don't want to come to vote on a law that will take us into debt and open up fiscal space for larger pensions, but they came running to vote on the law to increase pensions. Likewise, the municipalities next to VMRO-DPMNE want money for development, but they do not want to vote for a law that will provide that money. This morning I asked how many applications we have. They came from 78 municipalities, for 353 application projects. There are also from Strumica, Valandovo, Probishtip, Kriva Palanka, Krushevo - said Stojanoski.
Deputy Minister of Finance Nikolce Jankulovski presented the Draft Law. He repeated once again that it is a loan of 500 million euros, which will be withdrawn in one tranche. The repayment period is 15 years, including a grace period of 3 years. The interest is a fixed 3,25 percent, and the commission for legal services is 70.000 euros.
– This commission is 10 times lower than what was previously paid. For example, for the Eurobond in 2023, the commission was 900.000 euros, and in 2021 it was 1,2 million euros - said Jankulovski.
The Parliamentary Committee on Financing and Budget is the first filter through which the law that is brought in abbreviated procedure passes.
