Hungary will not support Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjártó, stated that Budapest will not support Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.
Szijjártó, answering the question of the Serbian news agency "Tanjug", stated that Hungary's position regarding Kosovo's membership was clear before, and Hungary stands for peace, stability and security in the Western Balkans region.
"We are rooting for the success of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, but we believe that the fact that Kosovo is applying for membership in international organizations does not contribute to that dialogue. "Hungary will not support the admission of Kosovo to the Council of Europe," said Szijjártó.
Szijjártó met today in Budapest with the Minister of Economy of Serbia, Adriana Mesarović, with whom he discussed the promotion of economic cooperation between Serbia and Hungary.
It was found that the relations between the two countries are the best ever.
