Regardless of what is happening on Russian territory, the enemy still keeps the bulk of its forces in this direction and seeks to achieve success, said Dmytro Chehotsky of the 59th Motorized Brigade of Ukraine

The unexpected and relatively easy penetration of Ukrainian forces into Russian territory has not yet caused a significant redeployment of Russian forces in the region, if that was its main goal.

Regional authorities in the Kursk and Belgorod regions declared a state of emergency and artillery units from various bases were sent there, but for a week there has been no sign that Russian forces are moving units already on the front in Ukraine. On the contrary, Russian units in the occupied territories continue to advance and fierce battles are being fought near Pokrovsk these days.

– Some troops were moved from the southern occupied regions, but this is not a major redeployment for now. There are no significant changes in the size of the groups, nor has the number of personnel changed enough to say that the fighting is subsiding - said the representative of the Ukrainian forces, Dmytro Likhovy.

Serhiy Tsekhotsky of the 59th Motorized Brigade confirms that the pressure in Donetsk, where Russian attacks have been concentrated for months, has not eased.

- Regardless of what is happening on Russian territory, the enemy still keeps the main part of his forces in this direction and tries to achieve success - Tsekhotskiy told the national television.

The General Staff in Kyiv said in a daily report that there had been 58 battles, the most so far, on the Pokrovsk front, where a large logistics base of Ukrainian forces is located.

A Russian commander, on the other hand, confirmed that the Ukrainian forces, in the face of "great losses", do not stop with the penetration, after advancing more than 30 kilometers across the border in a week.

General Apti Alaudinov of the Chechen Akhmat Special Forces said the Ukrainians had been stopped at Martynovka, about 18 kilometers from the border, and compared their breakthrough to the failed invasion of French forces under Napoleon in 1812.

- We burned everything that moved, everything we managed to find - said Alaudinov.

He added that Ukraine is sending more and more forces to Russia, but that this is weakening them on other fronts.

- The enemy is pressing, trying to break through everywhere, to break through, but every day the enemy forces are melting - said the Chechen general.

Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed that Ukraine carried out the penetration "with the help of its Western masters", in order to improve the position of Kiev against possible peace negotiations. Kiev's Western allies deny any links to the unexpected counteroffensive, but confirm that Ukrainian forces are using armored vehicles and weapons supplied by NATO members in the incursion. Allies hesitated a year ago to give long-range and offensive weapons to Ukraine, fearing they could be used for attacks on Russian territory.

- Ukraine has the right to self-defense against Russian aggressive attacks, which does not exclude operations in Russia - confirmed the British Ministry of Defense.

London clarified that Ukrainian forces can use anti-tank missiles, artillery, armored vehicles and other British weapons, but not Storm Shadow cruise missiles outside their borders.
