The Ukrainian Navy is conducting training with Uisco-class boats donated by Finland

Uisco-class landing craft, donated by Finland, were used by the Ukrainian Navy during a training exercise in which Ukrainian marines practiced seizing unprepared coastal terrain.

The exercises were aimed at preparing amphibious assault units.

Such exercises are held to improve the skills of the personnel, as well as to train for amphibious actions on a coast captured by the enemy.

"We strive for seamless coordination among the ship's crew, regardless of weather conditions or the presence of the enemy." In combat scenarios, the group should function as a cohesive unit," explained Volodymyr, commander of one of the vessels.

The Uisco-class landing craft were donated by the Finnish government as part of a military aid package to Ukraine.

It should be noted that the Finnish government has not yet officially announced the transfer of boats of this class.

This became known during the speech of Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in March 2023. He said he had approved the transit of Finnish boats to Ukraine through his country.

The Dutch Ministry of Defense said that Ukraine will receive fourteen rigid-hull rubber boats, five military river patrol boats and three combat vessels.
