Ukrainian army denies Russia captured Toretsk

The Ukrainian army denied that Russia had captured Toretsk, Ukrinform reported.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that the city in the Donetsk region, eastern Ukraine, is now under the control of the country's armed forces.

But last night, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry denied this claim. According to the statement, its fighters are defending Toretsk, receiving food and water via drones.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this morning about 10 Russian attacks near the city in the Bakhmutsky district yesterday, Ukrinform also reported.

A total of 123 military clashes were registered on Friday. The largest number of Russian attacks – 30 – occurred in the direction of Pokrovsky.

This morning, the Ukrainian Air Force said it had shot down 67 of the 139 drones that Russia launched overnight, Reuters reported.

Seventy-one drones disappeared from radar without causing any damage. The message does not say what happened to the last drone.

A fire broke out in an apartment building in the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy after a Russian drone attack. The fire has been extinguished. There are no reports of injuries so far.

Three people were killed yesterday in a Russian airstrike in the Sumy region.
