A senior Ukrainian official said today that Russian soldiers raped a five-year-old girl and a 76-year-old Ukrainian woman, British reports Sky news. Yulia Sviridenko, Ukraine's deputy prime minister, said she had seen a number of confessions from Ukrainian girls and women who were victims of sexual violence during the war.

When asked how Russian soldiers treat Ukrainian women, Sviridenko said: "Terrible. We talked about women and children who were raped. The youngest was only five years old, and the oldest was 76. These are terrible stories that the world should know about and respond to."

"I want to emphasize the importance of sanctions against Russia and the importance of continuing to supply Ukraine with the weapons we need to end this war victoriously. Our people are suffering tremendously, especially women and children. The whole world is preparing for Christmas, and Ukraine is preparing for new shelling, for rockets aimed at our electrical grid," she added.

Olena Zelenska, Ukraine's first lady, recently accused Russian forces of "using rape as a weapon" in the war against Ukraine. She also claims that "the wives of Russian soldiers encourage their husbands to rape Ukrainian women."
