The Russian oil refinery in Slavyansk, Krasnodar Territory, was damaged by a drone attack late last week, the company's security representative, Eduard Trudnev, said today.

According to local authorities, six drones struck the area of the Slavyansk oil refinery in the early hours of Sunday morning.

After the attack, the refinery stopped working. "Damage has been done. Its scope and size will be determined," said Trudnev.

The refinery in Slavyansk is a private facility with a capacity of about 100.000 barrels per day. It produces fuel for domestic needs and for export.

Russia has seen an increase in the number of Ukrainian attacks since its forces opened a new battlefield in the northeastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv earlier this month.
