Multiple images have been posted on social media showing smoke rising above the scene of the attack.

The Russians informed that the explosions happened near a bus station. The first information indicates that it was a rocket attack.

- According to preliminary information, Ukrainian soldiers fired two missiles of the "Storm Shadow" type at Luhansk - an unnamed official of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic told the Russian state news agency Tass.

A Tas journalist reported from the scene that several residential buildings were damaged in the attack and that members of the emergency aid came to the field.

The Russians say this is the first attack on the city since May last year.
