42.000 rapid antigen tests stolen from a warehouse in Sydney

Sydney

From warehouse to Sydney An unknown person stole 42.000 antigen tests for the coronavirus, Australian authorities announced today.

A police spokesman said the thief entered a warehouse in the Mascot suburb yesterday afternoon and "took the tests", without giving further details.

The theft investigation is ongoing.

New South Wales authorities have condemned the incident, saying the theft came at a time when Australia is facing a shortage of speed tests.

These tests in Australia sell for $ 22 (about € 20).

Australian unions threatened to strike early last week if vulnerable workers were not provided with free speed tests, but Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison did not comply.
