The murderer from Mladenovac remains in custody for another 30 days
The High Court ruled that the boy from Mladenovac in Serbia, who committed a mass murder in the villages of Malo Orasje and Dubona on May 4, has had his detention extended for 30 days. Uros Blazic (21) is suspected of killing eight and wounding 14 people.
According to unofficial data, during his bloody campaign, the young man shot three other people who were not injured and who received the status of protected witnesses.
Blažić was transferred to the Special Prison Hospital in Belgrade for further evaluation of his mental state. If the psychiatric examination shows that the suspect was not sane at the time of the crime, he may be ordered to undergo mandatory psychiatric treatment.
According to the regulations, a person who is subject to mandatory psychiatric treatment and detention in a health facility is subjected to thorough psychiatric and neurological examinations. Also, the person must undergo additional clinical examinations and consultations with other medical experts. Appropriate psychopharmacotherapy is also applied to the person.
The person will be involved in both group and individual psychotherapy and undergo psychological testing and social surveys to better understand their mental state. During the duration of the measure, work and occupational therapy, medical rehabilitation and resocialization will be carried out.
Allegedly, the 21-year-old confessed to the crime at the hearing under the pretext that "they were plotting against him".
