Tobacco farmers are satisfied with the average purchase price of tobacco, the purchase of around 25.850 tons is expected

The purchase of tobacco officially started yesterday and according to initial information, tobacco producers are satisfied with the price reached, the portal reports. Agroteam.mk. Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and Minister of Agriculture Ljupco Nikolovski were in person at the purchase point in the Tobacco Factory in Prilep yesterday, who announced that the price of tobacco this year has increased by 30% and amounts to 261 denars per kilogram of tobacco.

Tobacconist Stevan Veljanoski from Prilep says that he is satisfied with the average price at which tobacco is bought.

"I am quite satisfied with the average purchase price of tobacco, I am also satisfied with the quality of my tobacco, so I expect to achieve a good price," he said.

Otherwise, the purchase of tobacco this year is carried out at a price of 261 denars per kilogram of tobacco. According to the data from the State Inspectorate for Agriculture, the price has increased by 30%.

There is also an increase in the part of concluded purchase agreements and planned quantities for the purchase of tobacco. For the 2022 harvest, 29.653 contracts were concluded, which is 7% more than last year, when 27.712 contracts were concluded.

Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and Minister of Agriculture Ljupco Nikolovski said yesterday that this year we have better quality tobacco compared to last year.
