Turkey has announced events to mark the 41st anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Zeki Ozturk, a spokesman for the Turkish Defense Ministry, said the celebrations would include aerobatic demonstrations by the Turkish Air Force during a parade in Nicosia. Additional events will include demonstration flights over Kyrenia and visits to naval vessels in Famagusta.

"The Turkish Armed Forces will continue the fight against terrorism until our borders are fully secured," Ozturk said. He emphasized the military's commitment to protecting Turkey's rights and interests in the "Blue Motherland" and the "Sky Fatherland", while contributing to international peace and stability.

The "Blue Fatherland" doctrine promotes Turkish control over large areas of the Mediterranean, often at the expense of the rights of neighboring countries. Conceived in 2006 by senior Turkish naval officers, the concept challenges Greek sovereignty and Greek Cypriot rights in the Aegean Sea and Eastern Mediterranean, advocating a broad Turkish exclusive economic zone (EEZ).

The status of occupied Cyprus as a separate political entity is recognized only by Turkey, and the international community considers it an occupied territory.
