Three people died in the clashes on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border

Three Afghan citizens were killed in clashes between Afghan and Pakistani security forces on the border between the two countries, the Taliban spokesman said today, quoted by the British media.

Fighting took place last night near the southwestern border post of Torham, after Pakistani border guards opened fire on Afghan border forces, said Mufti Abdul Mateen, a spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Interior.

-Pakistani forces targeted civilian homes and killed a woman and two children, he said.

The Pakistan Army has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Clashes often break out between the two countries' security forces stationed along the border. The border was established decades ago during British colonial rule and has long been contested.
