The truck with damaged vehicles left Karposh for Madzari, the campaign will last until June
In Karposh, wrecked vehicles that had been left in parking lots and on sidewalks for years were being picked up today, after the Municipality announced the action last week and reminded owners to remove their old junk cars that already have stickers on them themselves, if they want to go unpunished.

The old vehicles, as we could see, were loaded onto a truck and taken to a depot in Madzari. As the municipal inspectors pointed out, the action is being carried out according to precisely established instructions issued by the Ministry of Environment, and the private company "Green Road" is responsible for the lifting, transport and storage of the vehicles. So, in the depot of the hired company, the lifted vehicles will remain for a maximum of seven days and if they are not taken over by the owners by then, the vehicles will "go" from there for recycling.

According to inspectors, the procedure for towing vehicles is determined by whether the vehicle has license plates or not. Those cars that have license plates and have received a yellow sticker with a notification that if the owners do not move the vehicle within 10 days, they will be towed by the Municipality. Those vehicles that do not have plates can be removed immediately.
– First, we started by mapping all the wrecked vehicles throughout the municipality and affixed a sticker to them for their removal from the parking lots, and now we are starting to pick up those who have not moved their cars after receiving the yellow sticker – the inspectors explained to "Sloboden Pechat".
After mapping, they made a list of wrecked vehicles divided into areas, and according to that list, they act and begin to recover them.
– Today, we will remove four vehicles on the territory of the Municipality of Karposh. So far, we have mapped 50 cars, of which 35 have already been lifted and transported to the depot, while an inspection procedure is underway for 11 – informed one of the inspectors.

Owners who received a sticker and did not move their vehicle within the stipulated deadline will receive a fine of 250 euros, which will cover the costs of transportation and storage to the depot.
She added that if the owners wish, they can buy back the already recovered vehicle from the depot, but the authority for that procedure and the price list for it does not lie with the Municipality of Karposh, but rather is regulated by the Collective Agent, the person carrying out this action.
The Municipality of Karposh informed that they have so far received around 200 applications for the removal of these unusable vehicles and are optimistic that all vehicles will be picked up by June of this year.
– We expect this action to last throughout this spring, and by June of this year at the latest, all reported vehicles will be removed, and with the removal of the last "damaged" vehicle, the cooperation (contract) with the company carrying out this action will end – the Municipality stated.

Mayor Stevcho Jakimovski today again appealed to citizens to either register and drive all vehicles that are not registered and occupy inappropriate space, or the Municipality will have to remove them.
– We would not like to have any unpleasant events or unpleasant conversations with citizens, but they must take into account that a vehicle that has been parked in one place for years practically prevents other citizens from being able to use that parking space – said Jakimovski.
