A third of Greeks are deprived of food to pay their bills
Every week coffee in Greece has higher prices. Owners of cafes, bars and taverns say they are forced to adjust prices as costs rise.
The coffee that was sold on the beach last summer for 2 euros, now costs 4 euros. Prices are different in different restaurants, but always higher than before, customers complain.
Manufacturers of clothing and footwear also say they are forced to raise prices and expect a drop in sales.
From July 1, a new wave of price increases is expected, which will cover not only food, economists warn.
There is already talk of "energy poverty" in Greece. A survey released today shows that every second Greek family has difficulty paying for electricity, and a third of Greeks are deprived of food to cover their debts.
