Trenchevska: With the expansion of the first and oldest kindergarten in Strumica, "Detska Radost" can now take care of 157 children

The Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Jovanka Trenchevska together with the Mayor of the Municipality of Strumica,Kostadin Kostadinov, today visited the kindergarten "Children's Joy", From this municipality, which has expanded the capacity for additional 57 children, with the completion of a new part related to the existing building.

It is really a pleasure for me to announce today that the first and oldest kindergarten in Strumica "Detska Radost", building 2 expands the capacity to receive 57 new children. With that, this kindergarten increases the current capacity of 100 children to 157, "said Minister Trencevska.

She said that for the construction works and equipping of the kindergarten, the Ministry from the Budget has provided funds in the amount of 17 million denars as part of the Program for construction, equipping and maintenance of child protection facilities for 2020. With the extension, the kindergarten gets 4 new rooms, of which two (2) nurseries and two (2) playrooms that will accommodate children from 2-4 years.

Minister Trenchevska informed that the construction of a new kindergarten with a capacity of 307 children in the Municipality of Strumica is in the final phase, which is being built in accordance with the Social Services Improvement Project, with the support of the World Bank. As well as that the two kindergartens together will significantly increase the coverage of new children. These are over 360 children who are provided with quality preschool education.

According to the Mayor of the Municipality of Strumica, Kostadinov, the continuous engagements for expanding the capacities of the existing kindergartens, as well as the construction of the new kindergartens, mean too much for the Municipality of Strumica and its citizens.

He expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and Minister Trenchevska for the commitment and realization of the new kindergarten and assured that the activities will continue in the future, because the youngest citizens of Strumica are a top priority.
