US President Donald Trump has said he wants to renew nuclear arms control talks with Russia and China and hopes the three countries could eventually reach an agreement to cut their military budgets by half.

Trump said at the White House yesterday that he sees no need to create new nuclear weapons because the United States already possesses a large arsenal, noting that all three countries could save enormous resources that could be used for more productive purposes.
"We have no reason to make new nuclear weapons, we already have so many. We could destroy the world 50 times, 100 times. And now we're making new nuclear weapons, while they (Russia and China) are also making theirs," Trump said.
