A real life drama took place today on the bank of the river Pena, in the Tetovo settlement Dereboj, when a six-year-old child who was playing in the yard of the family house at one point moved away and came to the bank of the river.

"The six-year-old boy fell into the water, after which his mother threw herself into the swollen river but failed to save him," Telma reported.

Two neighbors who heard her cries for help managed to pull the woman out of the river, but not to pull her son, who was pulled down by the river.

After a four-hour search by firefighters, police and rescue teams from the Protection and Rescue Directorate, the boy's lifeless body was pulled from the river this afternoon at 17 p.m.

The boy's body was handed over for autopsy, and the police inspected and investigated the circumstances of this tragic event in Tetovo.
