Serbian sport suffered a severe blow, the 32-year-old occasional representative of the Serbian basketball team, Stevan Jelovac, died.

Jelovac, who defended the colors of the Greek AEK at the club level, was immediately taken to hospital on November 14 when he fell ill during training.

It turned out that the wing center had a stroke, and as his club announced after the first intervention of the medical experts, the situation was still critical, "but stable".

But earlier this week, due to the seriousness of the situation, Jelovac was transferred to Serbia for treatment at the initiative of his family.

Unfortunately, there was no salvation for the Serbian basketball player, numerous Greek media reported on Sunday night.

During his rich career, Jelovac played for Vizura, Mega, Red Star, Antalya, Juvekaserta, Litvos Ritas, Zaragoza, Nizhny Novgorod, Brose Bamberg, Gaziantep and Japan's Sun-En Neofinix.

He played for the national team of Serbia in the qualifications for the World Cup 2019.
