Jeffrey, whose father played secret agent 007 in numerous films including A View To Kill and Live And Let Die, was asked if the role should ever go to a woman.

“Well, it's not James Bond anymore then. I mean, it could be 006, 008 or 009..." he told Express.

And while Lashana Lynch already got the famous code name in "No Time To Die," Jeffrey still thinks it led to confusion among audiences.

"I think this was a mistake in the last Bond. That she was 007 and then added:

"I have to give this back to Bond, it was his number," he said.

However, Roger Moore's son suggested that the writers and the studio could create a "Jane or Jemima Bond" character for women.

When asked about the fact that more and more women are appearing in action films, he replied:

"If you look at Charlize Theron in 'Atomic Blonde' ... I mean, women can certainly pull it off and do great fight scenes."

Daniel Craig believes that better roles for women are needed. In 2021, Daniel Craig was asked what he thought of a female Bond character. In a conversation with "Radio Times" he said:

"The answer to that is very simple. There simply should be better roles for women and actresses of color. Why would a woman play James Bond when there should be a role as good as James Bond, but for a woman?"
