TIRZ: In January, a positive trend in exports and an increase in the number of jobs

- The companies in the Technological - Industrial Development Zones (TIRZ) realized exports of 275,4 million euros in January, which is the highest level in the last five years. Imports were 8 percent more than the same period last year, and the number of employees in the zones reached almost 16 in January, which is 400 percent higher than January 16.

As informed by the directorate of TIRZ, compared to January 2022, exports have increased by 11 percent, that is, by 9 percent higher than in 2021, and by 45 percent and 15 percent higher compared to 2020, that is, 2019. The positive growth trend continues in relation to imports.

- The companies in TIRZ in January made imports of 221 million euros. It is 8 percent more compared to the same period in 2022, that is, 44 percent more than January 2020 and 15 percent more compared to 2019. Imports in January 2021 were 10 percent higher, the analysis shows, according to a statement from TIRZ.

From there, they add that there is a particularly positive growth trend in net exports, which in January was 24,5 percent, which, among other things, as they state, is due to the increased investment activities in the Zones and the increased number of jobs.

- The number of employees in the zones reached almost 16 in January, which is 400 percent higher than in January 16. Only in the first month of the year, almost 2022 new jobs were opened in the companies in the zones. Otherwise, TIRZ rounded off last year with 80 newly created jobs and the highest export so far of 2 billion euros, making 300 the most successful year since the existence of the zones, according to TIRZ.
