In Shtip, from today until October 8, organized by the Association for the Protection of Labor Rights "Glasen Tekstilets" from Shtip, the annual "Textile Festival - 6" is being held, under the motto "Wage for life - NOW AND IMMEDIATELY!".

Angel Dimitrov from the employers' organization pointed out that the number of employees in the textile industry starts to decrease every year.

- The textile industry as we know it so far will not exist in the future because it does not offer a higher standard for employees, and young people want a higher standard. That's why I think that the number of workers will continue to decrease, but on the other hand textile companies will have to think about their own trends for wool production where the added value will be higher, Dimitrov assesses.

Kristina Ampeva from "Glasen Textilec", said that since last year, the office of "Friedrich Ebert" has started meetings with a certain part of employers and researchers and advisers who are from abroad, in order to make strategies in which direction the textile industry should move. industry, and study visits abroad are also planned in the coming period.

Regarding what measures should be adopted so that there are no layoffs in the textile industry due to the crisis, he says that those measures should apply not only to textile workers, but also to the entire private sector, and we should look at what measures are being taken in the region, and not just to carry out populist measures.

Johannes Heidecker, economic advisor to Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski, says that the textile industry needs to improve standards, such as environmental standards, introduce better machines, better qualifications, digitization, and if they follow these steps, according to him, companies will be able to increase exports.

He says that some of the Macedonian companies are ready for these steps, and some need to take more concrete measures and strategies.

Regarding whether the Government will help these companies, he says that the main steps should come from the companies themselves and with the cooperation of their employees, and the Government can only create a good environment. - The most important thing is if you want to succeed in the market, you need to communicate with customers, train employees and invest in production, Heidecker said.

The largest event of its kind in the region achieves its mission to encourage young men and women workers to get involved in decision-making processes. Through events that are of a social and artistic nature, to show the public the need for support for the improvement of the rights of male and female workers, announced from "Glasen Textilec" - Shtip.

From there, they pointed out that this year's event is designed to show the need for a living wage, not a survival wage.
