Sad news: "Split's Pele", Hajduk's legendary goal scorer Petar Nadoveza, has died

After a serious illness, the legendary football player, coach and sports director died at the age of 81. Petar Nadoveza.

The sad news was confirmed this morning by Hajduk from Split, where he left the deepest mark. Nedoveza was the goal scorer of Hajduk and a representative of Yugoslavia. He arrived in Split in 1963 from Šibenik and spent 10 years in Hajduk before moving to Lokeren.

For the team from Split, he played 460 games in which he scored 296 goals. He won the title of champion of Yugoslavia in the 1970/1971 season, twice triumphed in the Cup and twice was the top scorer in the championship of Yugoslavia.

He finished his career in Lokeren in 1975, and in Hajduk he worked for a long time as a coach and sports director in the youth categories. How important he was to this team is also shown by his nickname, which read "Pele from Split".
