The Russian alpinist Alexander Klenov, who lived in Demir Kapia for the past years and promoted the Demir Kapia gorge in the world, died.

His relatives and friends say goodbye to him on social networks.

– Demir Kapia loved it as his birthplace! More than some born Demirkapians. Do a lot for her! Rest in peace, wrote the civil activist, doctor Kristina Nikolovska, on social networks.

She recalled that he was a man who loved nature endlessly and taught his two minor children, like all other people, how to love nature and how to lead a healthy life.

Several years ago, Klenov built his own home near the iron gate and decided that the stone kingdom and the rivers Vardar, Boshavica and Doshnica should be part of his family.

- I have loved nature since I was a child. I started with mountaineering, continued with sport climbing, to become a master of mountaineering. Rocks are in my blood, as they say, they are my second love, after my family. I have had numerous adventures around the world, climbing rock walls in all kinds of weather and under various circumstances. The Demirkapi Gorge won me over at first sight a few years ago and I decided to put down roots here, the man who many equated with a kind of version of Tarzan, Terminator and the like said on one occasion.

For several years, thanks to him, numerous climbers and alternative tourists visit the small place rich in natural treasures, history, archeology, tradition and culture.

- My mission is to continue to promote this part of the world that deserves to be seen, Klenov once decided.
