Sad news shook Macedonian handball, Aleksandar Jovic passed away

Former Macedonian handball national team player and coach of the Prolet handball club, Aleksandar Jovic, has passed away.

During his career, he played for Borec from Veles, and in the 1997/98 season, he defended the colors of Jafa Promet from Resen.

He played for Sloboda Tuzla from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bologna from Italy, in Croatia he was part of Split and Zagreb, and in Macedonia he wore the jersey of Vardar, Pelister and Metalurg.

He began his coaching career at Metalurg 2, and then led the first team. Before sitting on the bench of Prolet, he collaborated with Eurofarm Pelister 2, as well as with the first team.

In 1994/95 he played for Borec from Veles, and in 1997/98 he was part of the Jafa Promet squad from Resen. He wore the jerseys of Bosnian Sloboda Tuzla, Italian Bologna, Croatian Split and Zagreb, and also played for Vardar, Pelister and Metalurg, where he ended his playing career.

He was part of the generation that played for the Macedonian national team at the 2009 World Cup and Euro 2012.
