Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that he does not think that Russia is seriously weakened by the war in Ukraine, DPA reported.

"We have to be honest and clearly say that the Russian Navy and the Russian Air Force are about as big as they were before the war," Pevkur told DPA during his visit to Berlin.

Although the Russian ground forces have lost many people, they will sooner or later regain their numbers from before February 24, the Estonian minister noted.

In addition, Russia will learn from its experience in Ukraine.

"There is no reason to think that the threat from Russia has decreased", emphasized Pevkur.

Estonia plans to spend 2,84 percent of its gross domestic product on defense next year and 3,2 percent of its GDP in 2024, the minister said.
