The final match of the men's water polo tournament ended the competitions of the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo. In the end, in the last day, the most successful sports nation became the United States, which won 39 gold medals, only one more than China.

In addition, the United States has won the most medals at the Tokyo Games, a total of 113, and in addition to 39 gold, it also won 41 silver and 33 bronze medals. China remained at 38 gold, 32 silver and 18 bronze medals.

The third most successful nation is the host Japan which won 27 gold medals, Great Britain won 22 gold medals, while in fifth place is the Russian Olympic Committee with 20 gold medals won.

Of the countries in the region, the most successful are Croatia and Serbia, which each won three gold medals. The Croats also won three silver and two bronze medals, while Serbia added one silver and five bronze medals to the three golds.
