The Mayor of the Municipality of Strumica, Kostadin Kostadinov, today will symbolically hand over the key from the Municipality to representatives of the Strumica Carnival Organization, encouraging them to be good hosts to the guests and visitors of Strumica in the coming week. With this act, this year's jubilee edition of the carnival will be officially declared open.

In the upcoming carnival days, the municipality will host a large number of tourists and visitors, and in Strumica will arrive senior representatives and members of the Federation of European Carnival Cities (FECC), among which Mr. Lars Algel (Lars Algell), Sweden, FEKG President; Mr. Branko Brumen (Branko Brumen), Slovenia, Secretary General of FEKG and Director of "Courentovanje" Ptuj; Mr. Aleksandar Vasovi. (Aleksandar Vasović), Serbia, Advisor to the FEKG Board and Director of the Rakovica Carnival; Mrs. Marie-Claire Klein Thyssen (Marie-Claire Klein-Theisen), Germany, President of FEKG-Germany; Mr. Jürgen Schmidt (Jürgen Schmidt), Germany, FEKG Senator and Chairman of the FEKG Supervisory Board; Mr. Chiron Van Hyron Van Leeuwen, The Netherlands, President of the FECG Netherlands; Mr. зерzer Koyuncu, Turkey, President of FEKG Turkey; Mrs. Ivana Boskovic (Ivana Bosković), Croatia, President of FEKG Croatia; Mr. Petar Radoja (Petar Radoja), Slovenia, Vice President of FEKG Slovenia and many others.

- I am glad that after a two-year break, Strumica will again unite the fans of authentic masks and parades of our cultural identity. Today I will officially hand over the "key" from the Municipality of the Carnival and with this move, above all, I wish another successful Strumica miracle that will enrich our everyday life. At the same time, I encourage the Organizers, as good hosts to welcome our guests this year - eminent representatives of the Federation of European Carnival Cities, which to my satisfaction are in large numbers - said the Mayor of Strumica, Mr. Kostadin Kostadinov.

Participating in the carnival, in addition to domestic carnivalists, will be joined by famous carnival groups from the Balkans, including the famous Afro-Brazilian percussion group "Paranau" from Thessaloniki, Greece, who for more than 20 years are part of all major carnivals in Greece, and have performed as a pre-group of world famous stars, including Bob Dylan and Manu Chao.

This year, the carnival celebrations will last for 8 days, ending on March 9, on the holiday "Trimeri" with the traditional trimmer lunch and return of the key from the Municipality. The main carnival night will take place on March 5 (Saturday), while the carnival parade will take place along a shortened route.

During the days of the carnival celebration, several activities will be held, including a concert under the masks of the music school. Boro Johnny, children's carnival, awarding the best carnival masks, aphorisms, cartoons and literary works on the theme - "carnival". In addition to the regular activities, as a sign of the jubilee - 30 years of organized holding of the Strumica Carnival, there will be a promotion of a monograph.
