Drought in Tunisia has forced authorities to turn off water across the country
Authorities in Tunisia are turning off water in the capital and other cities in an effort to reduce consumption amid a severe drought.
Local residents said water was shut off overnight without warning in the cities of Tunis, Hammamet, Sousse, Monastir and Sfax.
Drought is a major problem in Tunisia and the government has previously warned it may turn off water at night during the summer to reduce consumption due to a lack of water supplies in the North African country.
