In the Basic Court in Tetovo today at 12 o'clock the verdict should be pronounced for the accused in the trial for the fire in the modular hospital that happened on September 8, 2021 when 14 people lost their lives. On May 29, the closing words of the Prosecutor's Office and the defendants' lawyers were presented, after which Judge Jordan Velkovski noted that the main hearing was over and that he would announce the verdict on June 5, Monday at 12 noon.

The former directors of the Tetovo Clinical Hospital, Florin Besimi and Artan Etemi, are charged with the crime of "serious crimes against public security", while doctor Boban Vucevski is accused of "failure to comply with health regulations during an epidemic". The clinical hospital as a legal entity is charged with two crimes, first for "causing public danger" and for "failing to comply with health regulations during an epidemic".

At the beginning of the trial, the defendants stated that they understood the charge, but that they did not feel guilty. The trial began in December 2022.

A peaceful protest has been announced for today to support and demand an acquittal for doctor Boban Vucevski from a group of citizens who are organizing themselves through social networks.

During the closing arguments, the lawyers of the defendants emphasized that the Prosecutor's Office did not prove the guilt. The representatives of the Prosecutor's Office pointed out that with the presented evidence and testimonies the defendants committed the crimes and asked the court to declare them guilty.
