The court agreed to postpone Hunter Biden's trial until September

The court ruled today to delay the trial of Hunter Biden, who is scheduled to stand trial on federal tax charges in September.

However, the president's son Joe Biden has a hearing scheduled for June 3 on federal gun charges in the Delaware case.

Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to both charges, which his lawyers say are politically motivated.

Prosecutors opposed the request to delay the tax case, saying Hunter Biden "is not above the rule of law and should be treated like any other defendant."

Both cases are being overseen by judges nominated by then-President Donald Trump, a Republican who wants to oust the Democratic president.
