Electricity for those who spend more in Albania is four times more expensive
The Energy Regulatory Office has approved a 4,4-fold increase in energy prices for household consumers who consume more than 800 kilowatts of electricity per month.
Thus, households that exceed this value will no longer pay energy at 9,5 leka (5 denars), but at 42 leka (22 denars) per kilowatt hour.
After the proposal of the government, this price was first accepted by the Albanian electricity corporation, KESH, as the exclusive supplier.
The opposition reacted to the decision and demanded that such price increases do not happen and that the priority should be the citizens, not the interest of the government.
This decision will be applied until December 31 of this year, and it is believed that more than 60 thousand households will be affected.
