This morning, Mayor Boban Stefkovski submitted an initiative to the City of Skopje, requesting the return of the old names of 34 streets in the Gazi Baba municipality. He reminds that at the proposal of the former Mayor of the City of Skopje Petre Shilegov, the Council of the City of Skopje at the session held in March 2021 adopted a Decision on the determination and change of names of streets, bridges and squares in the area of ​​the City of Skopje.
- Without any consultation and consent with the citizens of Gazi Baba municipality, the then city management made a decision to rename 34 streets including: Fuštanska, Radovan Kovačević, branches from Blagoja Stefkovski, branch from Tovarnik Street and other streets in our territory. In the past period, I have received a large number of reactions from the citizens that I consider justified, because without dialogue and consent of the citizens no decisions are made. The demands of the citizens are also my demands - says Stefkovski.
