The project for promotion of digitalization in the country starts

The start of the project aimed at promoting the digitalization of Northern Macedonia, implemented with financial support from Estonia and the United States, was officially marked at a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov, the Estonian Center for International Development team and US Embassy officials. in the country.

According to the Secretariat for European Affairs, the goals of the project were reaffirmed at the meeting and the activities to be implemented in the next period were specified, with Deputy Prime Minister Dimitrov emphasizing the importance of the digitalization process in the context of the European integration process. partnership and support that promotes the principle of good governance.

- Digitalization is an important aspect of the Europeanization process because it will improve the quality and efficiency in providing services to citizens, will ensure the continuity and smooth operation of institutions, but is also a successful tool in the fight against corruption. Transferring the Estonian experience in cooperation with a strategic partner such as the USA is a great opportunity to create a successful digital story in Northern Macedonia, stated Dimitrov, reported by SEA.

This project is the first trilateral cooperation between Northern Macedonia, Estonia and the United States of America, aimed at supporting the process of approximation to European standards and progress in European integration.

They added that during the visit, the representatives of the Estonian Center for International Development will meet with several institutions, international donors, representatives of the private and civil sector who are active stakeholders in the field. The purpose of these meetings is to map the situation regarding the digitalization of processes and services, as a starting point for further implementation of the project, and on Friday, September 24, a press conference will be held to present the project goals and activities.
