On the occasion of his victory in the second round of the presidential elections in Turkey, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a letter to Erdogan congratulating him on his victory. In the letter addressed to Erdogan, he addresses him as "Dear Mr. Erdogan, dear friend" and congratulates him on his re-election as president.

"Victory in the elections is a natural result of your selfless work at the head of the Republic of Turkey, a clear proof of the support of the Turkish people for your efforts to strengthen state sovereignty and conduct an independent foreign policy. I highly appreciate your personal contribution to strengthening friendly Russian-Turkish relations and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. We attach great importance to consistent implementation of the planned joint projects, primarily the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant and the creation of a gas center in Turkey," Putin wrote.

Earlier, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, wished success to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his congratulatory message, wishing him to remain dedicated to the further development of his country and the well-being of the citizens in this mandate.

"I hope that together we will work on new initiatives that will accelerate the strong development of the entire region, but also bring people together and connect economies for the benefit of all our citizens."
