A Serbian journalist is confident that John Lennon was the son of Draja Mihajlovic, he wrote a whole book
"I have finished a novel about John Lennon in which I prove, quite seriously, that Lennon was the son of (World War II Chetnik leader) Draža Mihajlovic. The Serbs won't like it, let alone the British and the rest of the world, but I'm in charge of communicating the uncomfortable truths" - says Dragan Jovanovic, a Serbian writer, journalist, environmental activist and philosopher with unconventional ideas, whose position on history, not at all according to the canon, often angers conservative Serbian circles, writes "Danas".
Jovanović was a long-time editor in the magazine "NIN" and for years wrote the column "Postekologia" for this weekly, and today his columns can be read on the blog of the same name.
In addition to claiming a family connection between Mihajlovic and Lennon, Jovanovic also has unusual views on the religion of the Serbs and the Slavic peoples in general - he claims that at the dictates of the Vatican, the "Judeo-Christian faith" was imposed on the Slavs, which is based on our "old faith".
"I am organizing scientific conferences on Suva planina in my Vidovo, the next one will probably be about village communism. There I erected a statue of the god Weed, the first erected in the last 800 years, because the Nemanjic, in my opinion, great Serbian criminals, imposed Judeo-Christianity on us by order of the Vatican. Serbs can hardly accept that, and I don't know how many years, years it will take for the Serbian collective consciousness to come," says Jovanovic in an interview with "Danas".
