The ambassador of Serbia in Spain, Irena Sharac, was attacked today in the center of Madrid and an investigation has been opened into the case.

The ambassador was attacked this afternoon on the street where she lives, and the attacker injured her back. From the statements of the witnesses present, it is suspected that, according to his speech, it is a person of Albanian origin.

Irena Sharac was born on April 9, 1980 in Belgrade. She completed Special Academic Studies - International Relations.

She has many years of work experience in diplomacy as an assistant minister of foreign affairs for bilateral cooperation with the title of ambassador, in the MFA she also worked as the head of the Department for Asia, Australia and the Pacific, as well as in the bilateral cooperation sector. She was also an adviser in charge of the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and Mongolia. She also worked in the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the People's Republic of China and Greece.

He speaks English and Chinese as well as Spanish and French.

Immediately after the attack, Foreign Minister Marko Djuric announced that Ambassador Sharac was physically attacked in Madrid.

"I strongly condemn the physical attack on Ambassador Sharac in the center of Madrid. We demand from all the authorities a full investigation and responsibility for this unprecedented incident and act of violence against the highest diplomatic representative of our country", said the head of Serbian diplomacy.
