Siljanovska Davkova-Tajani meeting: The main topic is European integration
Advancement of cooperation between Macedonia and Italy, the current state of the Macedonian accession process for membership in the European Union, current developments in the region... These were the main topics of the meeting between the President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic, Antonio Tajani.
"The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the active and continuous political dialogue, which is a confirmation of the traditionally good and friendly relations between the two countries. Emphasizing that membership in the European Union is our strategic priority, the president expressed her gratitude for Italy's continued support of Macedonian European integration and the consistent advocacy of the European Union's enlargement policy," said a statement from the President's Office.
In the interest of stability, prosperity and economic growth, President Siljanovska Davkova emphasized the necessity of speeding up the accession to the EU and expressed the expectation that with the help and strong support of our true friends, the country will be able to follow the European path more easily.
"In that direction, the president confirmed the commitment to fulfilling the reform agenda, maintaining good neighborly relations and active regional cooperation. Emphasizing that Italy is our important political and economic partner, President Siljanovska Davkova expressed her expectation for the advancement of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and the further strengthening of security cooperation within the framework of the NATO Alliance. The president emphasized the readiness to promote cooperation through cultural and public diplomacy and indicated the possibility of cooperation with Italian regions in the fields of tourism, youth and sports, as well as in the field of creative industries", the Cabinet reports.
