A meeting between the government partners, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski and the president of Alternativa Afrim Gashi took place today, a senior official from Alternativa told "Sloboden Pechat". The non-implementation of the agreement on the entry of Alternativa into the Government, as well as the possible strengthening of the ruling majority with the Alliance for Albanians, were the topics discussed by Kovacevski and Gashi.

The meeting of the government partners is after two weeks ago Gashi in a letter asked the Kovacevski Government to make a decision by which it will request help from the European Commission for international review of the court cases "Monstrum", "Divo Naselje", "Maliot Almir", "Alfa". . For Gashi informed the European ambassador David Geer about this last week.

- The President spoke with the Prime Minister about our political agreement on the entry of Alternative into the Government. Gashi asked Kovacevski to explain where the realization of the provisions of the agreement is stalled, first of all the request for international review of several court cases. It is important for us to discuss the implementation of the agreement. The letter was given to the Prime Minister and according to our information, Kovacevski forwarded it to the Ministry of Justice, so that Minister Nikola Tupanceski can prepare information and the Government will have to make a decision and turn to the EC - says the official from Alternativa.

Alternative says that Gashi did not open the topic of possible entry of Alliance about the Albanians in the Government, but that Kovacevski should inform about it.

-If Kovacevski opens itл that thread, Gashi for sure say ital the position of Alternative that there is no reason for Alliance to enter the Government, unless the "firemen" leave DUI, so that the opposition party enters as a reserve - they say from Alternative.

Alternative is decisive that they do not intend to cede ministerial and other positions in favor of the Alliance.

The Government only confirmed that Kovacevski's meeting with Gashi had just ended. The Ministry of Justice, on the other hand, says that neither the prime minister nor Alternative has sent a letter to them about the court cases for which Gashi's party is requesting revision.

The Prime Minister recently stated that he has not yet discussed the possible entry of the Alliance into the Government with Alternativa, but that they will easily come to an agreement if everyone is in favor of entering the EU. But it was precisely the division of the government cake that stalled the negotiations with the acting president of the Arben Taravari Alliance. There will be a new meeting between Kovacevski and Taravari after SDSM, DUI and Alternativa agree on the ministerial package for the Alliance. The initial agreement was for the three parties to cede one ministry each to the Alliance, but Alternative does not agree with that for the time being. There are several portfolio combinations in play that the Alliance will have to choose from. The departments of health, justice, transport and communications, education, environment and information society are in play.
