A Serb drowned in Australia while rescuing his six-year-old daughter
Branko Radulovic (49) drowned on a popular beach in Adelaide, Australia, trying to save his six-year-old daughter, who was swept away by the waves, writes Nova.rs.
Witnesses say the girl was in a dinghy when the waves swept her away from the shore, and Branko, dressed, ran into the water to save her.
Michael Napier (70) You were playing with your grandchildren on the beach when you saw a man who entered the water to save his daughter.
"I ran to catch him. Before I could reach him, the girl jumped out of the boat into his arms. "He was trying to save her in deep water," he said, adding that then a strong wind blew the rubber and that he managed to put the girl on a swimming board.
By the time I got to him, he was already under water. Then his body came out and that was the moment when I grabbed his pants and turned him so that his face was above the water - he added.
Branko was unconscious when he and his daughter were pulled out of the water with the help of beach visitors.
"I think I could have reached them earlier and I'm sorry I did not," said Michael. Family and friends said goodbye through social networks to the devoted father who gave his life for his daughter, the media report.
