Serbia should recognize Kosovo, nothing will change our position, said Rama from New York
The Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama this afternoon published a part of the speech given yesterday at the General Assembly of the United Nations, where he focuses on the issue of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and the relations between them.
In his speech, Rama said that "nothing changes Albania's position that Serbia should recognize Kosovo and it is time to overcome the deadlock in the dialogue with courage, on both sides, to reach a decisive agreement supported by the EU and USA".
Rama said that "the best message of the Open Balkans, which I want to share with you today, is that it is not necessary to agree on everything in order to leave behind the dark past and build, step by step, a different future, dealing with misunderstandings in a more and more kind way and always finding more and more reasons, the good ones, to resolve misunderstandings".
-Strengthening relations with Serbia and moving forward to advance bilateral and regional cooperation, Albania has not moved and will not move a single millimeter from its unwavering stance to support the need of every country, even among you who have not done so, including Serbia , to recognize the Republic of Kosovo, said Rama.
He suggested that it is time for Kosovo and Serbia to overcome "the current deadlock in their dialogue and work courageously towards a comprehensive peace agreement, playing their respective roles to adopt an agreement supported by the EU and the United States of America".
