Serbia fired the coach who brought her a European title
The Volleyball Federation of Serbia (OFS) today decided not to continue the cooperation with the selector of the men's senior national team, Slobodan Kovac.
The OFS presidency decided after the failure of the European Championship that took place this year and at which Serbia was left without a medal, not to extend the contract with Kovac, who in 2019 became European champion.
A blacksmith on the bench of Serbia succeeded Nikola Grbiќ in August 2019, just ten days before the start of the European Championship, but he managed to take the volleyball players to the gold medal.
"OFS expresses its gratitude to Kovac for his work so far and the results and wishes him success in his future coaching career," OFS said.
