We prevented a Ukrainian attack on the Zaporozhye nuclear plant with kamikaze drones, claims Moscow
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation prevented the attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (ASU) to attack the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant with drones, said today the spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
- Attempts by the armed forces of Ukraine to attack the territory of the nuclear power plant with eight kamikaze drones were prevented. All Ukrainian drones were shot down outside the territory of the nuclear power plant, Konashenkov said.
As reported by BTA, he emphasized the fact that the radiation situation in the area of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is within the norms.
So far, there is no comment from the Ukrainian side about the Russian claims. The two countries regularly accuse each other of shelling Europe's largest nuclear power plant. Located in the partially Russian-occupied Zaporozhye region in southeastern Ukraine, the headquarters was seized by the Russian army in March.
In the last 24 hours, the Ukrainian armed forces have shot down eight kamikaze drones delivered to Russia from Iran, a Ukrainian representative said in the meantime.
The claims of both sides in the conflict have not been independently verified.
