Smuggling of gambling machines prevented

Nine gaming machines, as well as 405 maintenance parts, were seized after an importer tried to smuggle them among declared goods for import clearance at the Gevgelija customs office.

The devices together with the maintenance parts were discovered during a detailed control by the Mobile Team of the Control and Investigations Department.

Appropriate charges were filed against the company importing equipment for casinos and slot machines for violating customs regulations.

The Customs Administration says that within the framework of their competences, they continuously undertake activities to prevent smuggling and the gray economy.
