According to Rama, Kosovo should immediately call elections in the north

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the position of Tirana, as well as that of all the leaders of the European Union and the United States, is that the current situation in the north of Kosovo is unacceptable and that the Serbs should return to the institutions and the Albanian authorities in Pristina should announce new elections.
In an interview with Klan TV, Rama emphasized that the position of the Albanian government is clear - this situation is dangerous and unnecessary.
When asked who was responsible, he said it was not his job to look for those responsible.
- In Moldova, all the leaders of Europe and some other countries were present, and the only position of all the leaders of the EU is the same as that of the USA, that this situation is unacceptable and there are two things - the Serbs must return to the institutions, Kosovo must to immediately call new elections to resolve the situation, he explained.
Rama announced that he met Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Vjosa Osmani on the sidelines of the European Political Community Summit, but that they did not discuss the situation in the north of Kosovo.
According to him, it is a matter for them to decide whether they want to talk to him or not.
When asked if this means that there is no communication between Albania and Kosovo on an official level, Rama said that this is not the case, but that it is the responsibility and competence of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, and to some extent the President.
– It is up to them to decide if they want to discuss that issue or not. I'm not the one guiding them and telling them how to do this job. This is respect for them and for the institutions of Kosovo, in my opinion, he added.
He pointed out that Kosovo consulted with Albania when it wanted to consult.
"When they don't want to consult, it's completely their right not to consult." He did not ask to talk to me or to us in the Government and he has the right not to talk. But we are not indifferent, emphasized Rama.
