Spasovski: By the Ministry of Interior, the detective activity of corruption has increased by 50%
Today Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski, together with State Secretary Magdalena Nestorovska and Director of the Public Security Bureau Saso Tasevski had a working meeting with the Acting US Ambassador to the Republic of Northern Macedonia, HE Eric Meyer and the US Department of Justice's ICITAP Program Attaché, Carl Reicham.
Acting US Ambassador Meyer congratulated Spasovski on his re-election as Minister of the Interior and expressed confidence in further deepening the excellent cooperation and support already established by the Government of the United States of America.
Minister Spasovski expressed gratitude for the support and excellent cooperation by the US Government in many areas of police work and reiterated the priorities to which the Ministry of Interior is continuously focused, including the fight against illegal migration, organized crime, terrorism, computer crime and corruption.
Minister Spasovski mentioned the smooth implementation of projects implemented by the Ministry within the ICITAP Program as a top priority and reaffirmed the good perception of the fight against corruption, emphasizing that in 2021, compared to 2020, Corruption detection activity by the Ministry of Interior was increased by 50%.
Minister Spasovski and the Acting Ambassador of the United States, HE Eric Meyer expressed confidence and commitment to continue at the same pace in the coming period, in order to intensify cooperation between the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Northern Macedonia and the US Government through the US Embassy in Skopje.
