As reported by the Italian media today, Napoli allegedly convinced Luciano Spalletti who is expected to succeed Gennaro Gattuso.

"La Gazzetta dello Sport" reports that the owner of the club Aurelio De Laurentiis has chosen the former strategist of Inter and Roma as the new coach of the "Neapolitans".

Former AC Milan boss Gattuso is leaving at the end of the season even if he manages to bring the Champions League back to Naples.

The newspaper claims that Spalletti was in continuous talks with De Laurentiis, initially the two sides did not reach an agreement on financial terms because Spalletti asked for four million euros per year, and Napoli offered 2,5 million plus bonuses.

However, the latest information says that the transfer will be realized with an annual income of three million euros per season and thus Spalletti will be the new coach of Napoli from the 2021/2022 season.
