Contemporary Balkan authors will meet at the 10th "Pro-za Balkan" in Skopje

A dozen writers, publishers, editors from the region and beyond will be guests at the jubilee 10th edition of the International Literary Festival "Pro-za Balkan", which will be held from September 18 to 21 in Skopje.

This year's winner of the "Prozart" award for author's contribution to the development of literature in the Balkans, Macedonian writer Olivera Nikolova, will be joined by writers Damir Karakash, Bronja Jakelj, Vladislav Bajac, Elena Aleksieva and Tomislav Osmanli. Their work will be promoted at the opening on September 18, in Daut Pasha's hammam from 20:XNUMX.

Within the framework of the festival, a conversation will be held with the Croatian director and screenwriter Rajko Grlić, whose film "Karaula" will be shown on September 21 at the Cinematheque. The conversation with Grlic will take place on the second day of the festival, from 20:21, at the "Bukva" cafe-bookstore, where from XNUMX:XNUMX Pian Slavej, known as a musical performer, author and vocal soloist in the group "Foltin", will hold a musical performance. as part of the promotion of his third poetry book "Polygraph".

Within the framework of the tenth edition of "Pro-za Balkan" a round table will be held on the topic "Literature/society/criticism (literature and critical re-reading of social processes)".

The festival will close on September 20 in Daut Pasha's Hammam. On the third evening of the festival, the annual winner of the "Prozart" award, Olivera Nikolova, will give a video address, and the writers will read excerpts from their works. In memory of Luan Starova, an excerpt from his work will be read.

The organizer of the festival is "Prozart Media". Supporters of "Pro-za Balkan" are the Ministry of Culture, "Traduki", the Turkish Cultural Center "Yunus Emre", the City of Skopje, the Cultural and Information Center of Bulgaria in Skopje, the Embassy of Slovenia, the French Institute in Skopje, the Cinematheque, the National Gallery , "Spona".
